Pinning and Winning
Guess what?! We just celebrated my 1-year anniversary of working at Promotional Solutions! Woo! So, that means I’ve been working in the promotional products industry for a whole year now... and I still haven’t even scratched the surface on learning what that means!For a while, I decided I wouldn’t even bother with learning about the industry and I left all the knowledge up to the sales people. Pretty recently, I realized that I should be pushing myself to learn something new every day. I've discovered so many new things since then and can finally see how selling promotional products requires some creativity!I don’t think I’ll ever be able to rattle off where to find such and such item under X number of dollars like Matt and Shannon can. Nevertheless, I’m happy to have realized that there is a truly creative side to the industry of promotional products. Not only am I amazed by how many unique and out-of-the-box products we have access to, but also the endless number of ideas that can be attributed to them. I have found that browsing promotional suppliers’ Pinterest boards has been the best research tool for me. Since I’m already sort of obsessed with Pinterest, it’s so easy to get into re-pinning sprees and to get the ideas to start flowing! Let’s talk about the most exciting pinning adventures I’ve been on, shall we?First of all, did you know that promotional apparel can be fashionable?! I know, I know, hard to believe- but trust me here! Ladies- you can say bye to those gross company polo’s and unflattering boxy shirts. No really, your company’s apparel doesn’t have to be so stiff anymore and it's a beautiful thing! Guys- why wear that boring old cheap-o baseball hat when you can completely customize your own? Not only can we find you some seriously trendy casual-wear, but we can also help you stay on trend in the work place. Our suppliers are keeping up-to-date on fashion trends to help you do just that!Secondly, I am an avid wedding board browser (it's a girl thing) and I love to see how creative people get with wedding details. Again, I never even realized that some of the most creative and memorable little details can be completely customized and provided by yours truly! You know those adorable programs that double as fans? Yep, we can get them! For it being one of the biggest days of people’s lives, why not make it memorable and unique with promotional products?What I didn’t fully understand before, and that Pinterest has helped me believe now, is that promotional products don’t have to be all about slapping a logo on a cheap-o pen to hand out at job fairs.
