Captain Consistent
Spring is finally here and pretty soon, (well, hopefully soon) the snow will melt, golf courses will open up, and docks will be going back into the water. This has always been one of the hardest times of the year for me to stay focused. Currently, March Madness is going mad, baseball's opening day's coming up and we can finally put away the snow shovels. Finding a balance between family, friends, faith and your career is something that comes to my mind every spring. To say that I am not committed to those things would be a lie, but being able to balance them all out can be a handful. In Minnesota and North Dakota a lot of things change with the seasons. Parkas turn into t-shirts* and jeans turn into shorts*. (*Insert manks and jorts if necessary, Jesse) During all of this change I think it’s important to focus on what you do best. One thing I really strive for is consistency. In our marketing world, creativity and change can be very good things. But, if we aren’t consistent with our delivery we’ll certainly be out of a job.One guy that I look up to for his ability to stay consistent is Derek Jeter, unfortunately. As much as it annoys me, you always know what you are going to get from him. That is what makes him one of the best of all time. He won’t break the home run record or steal a million bases, but he’ll work hard at being the best there ever was and pile up a bunch of two-out RBI singles in the process.Whether you’re looking for a hundred dollars worth of pens for a conference or tens of thousands of dollars worth of product for your annual event I hope that I can deliver a consistent solution to your company and your brand. I hope that comfort and ease in working with Promotional Solutions is never in question and that when the dust settles, our clients know what they are going to get out of us. Great design, fast delivery and fair prices are all great concepts but unless consistently applied, our jobs become much harder than they should be. At Promotional Solutions, we strive to keep our work consistent and continue to be the best that we can be. By the way, if someone has a better example of consistency than Derek Jeter, please let me know. Mentioning him in this post has been painful for me!Good luck to our Minnesota Twins this year, they’re going to need it!- Matt Oye
